Running a dental practice is not for the faint of heart. If you’re like most dentists, you’ve been dealing with staffing issues, stress over revenue and collections, and the fact that you need to keep up with the latest and greatest marketing techniques to make sure that the doctor down the street doesn't steal market share.

Yes, you're on a difficult road. But you don't have to walk it alone.

Mastermind groups have been growing in popularity over the last several years. These groups consist of a small number of folks  (5-10 people) in a related cohort, such as dental practice owners, who meet virtually or in person on a regular basis. In doing so, they are able to learn from and support each other.

Whether it's discussing new patient acquisition ideas, how to transition into 100% fee-for-service, or simply the best ways to establish a positive office culture, a group of like-minded professionals who face the same challenges as you is a great way to not only stay connected to your industry, but build your practice in the process -- on several levels.

As they say, "a rising tide lifts all boats."

How to find and join Mastermind Groups:

We know it can feel like just another thing to have to do, but Mastermind Groups might inspire your next goal as a dentist or help you think through an issue at your practice. Here are a few ways to get started:

  1. Your first stop should be an obvious one -- do a Google search for "mastermind groups near me".
  2. If you can't find one through Google, talk to your local/state association and see if they have any leads.
  3. Finally, consider starting your own! Begin by making a list of other practice owners you think would be a good fit. Then, set up a basic set of guidelines; something like "we'll meet twice a month over Zoom for one hour. 15 minutes for each member's weekly updates, then a specific topic of the week, then review everyone's accountability goals for the following week."

Once you've committed to a group, make sure you show up. Blowing off these meet ups may result in missing critical connections that can help propel your practice success. Even if you don't think you have anything to contribute, you never know what might conjure a brilliant idea.

It might take some work and patience to find the right people...but all good things do. In the meantime, we’re here to tell you that you really aren’t alone. And while you search for your group,  Amplify360 can help you build and scale your practice into something you can truly be proud of.
